Caution Beacons

Today’s school children face a dangerous journey: crossing the street. School-age children are at much greater risk walking to and from school than at any other time in their school day. Children are especially vulnerable to accidents involving motor vehicles because they are difficult for drivers to see and they can lack good judgment when crossing streets.

Roadside work crews are also vulnerable, as their attention is focused on the job at hand, not necessarily on passing traffic. Meanwhile, inattentive drivers distracted by cell phones are everywhere and work zone accidents are common.

Attract Attention

Flashing beacons attract attention to speed limit and work zone signs that tell drivers to slow down. When combined with traffic calming devices, such as Wanco Speed Signs, our beacons greatly improve visibility and decrease vehicle speeds.

Single beacons flash on and off, while dual beacons flash alternately (one is on while the other is off). These bright, LED beacons feature state-of-the-art technology and are immediately visible when flashing.

Kits and Components

Wanco Caution Beacons can be permanently mounted in school zones and other high-risk areas, or installed in temporary work zones. We have beacon kits that include all the components you need for single, dual and 3-beacon permanent applications, as well as kits for temporary installations. We also make all of our kit components available individually.

Simple controls and a variety of options make Wanco Caution Beacons easy to use. Automatic night dimming improves efficiency, and the optional 365-day timer allows continuous operation without intervention.
