The Wanco Compact Light Tower is now available in a hybrid battery-diesel model. You get the same high levels of performance and reliability, now with silent battery power. This hybrid model uses a rechargeable battery to power four dimmable LED lights. When battery power runs low, diesel backup power kicks in automatically, recharging the battery and powering the lights until the battery is fully charged. An added benefit is the ability to switch to shore power whenever you like.
This hybrid model offers multiple power options: battery, diesel genset, and shore power. The default mode is to run the dimmable LED lights on the system’s lithium-ion battery. When the battery charge runs low, the engine starts automatically — powering the lights and simultaneously recharging the battery — and shuts down when the battery is charged. The DSE digital controller allows manual or automatic on/off control.
The rechargeable lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery powers the lights at full brightness for seven hours on a full charge. With infinite brightness adjustment from 0 to 100%, longer run time is possible on battery power alone.
The genset combines a Mitsubishi Tier 4 diesel engine and 4kW Mecc Alte alternator. Together with the 60-gallon onboard fuel tank, hybrid operation runs up to 900 hours before refueling. With a built-in 120-volt convenience outlet, the genset also provides AC output power anywhere.
As an alternative to battery-diesel power, a shore power input switch is standard. Just connect the light tower to an external AC power source and turn the input selector. As with engine power, the AC power source charges the battery while powering the lights.
